The goal is to get higher efficiency and speed at the development level for the final testing phase. This is possible within a virtual environment incorporating given hardware components such as: powertrain and autopilot. This solution enables the R/D team to develop:

• an optimized trade-off between interacting parameters for instance hybrid strategy optimization
• strategies on active systems and assistance systems varying the driver module

Furthermore this virtual environment permits:

• to prepare and to validate complex test methods
• to validate components in development phase at a system level
• to connect lab-based HiL tests with real-world driving tests

The use of the STÄHLE driver module with its human drive styles characteristics integrated into the different test systems allows to perform the same tests in all levels of the development with the same = identical driver . Hereby a full correlation between the different test configurations is possible from SiL – HiL – chassis tests - Proving ground.
